When you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind (James 1:6, NIV). Pray for wisdom! But when you do, make sure you are ready to receive it. Believe the word the Lord has for you, and do not doubt. Your very life depends upon it.
